Dreaming Woman
04:37
|
|||
I am a dreaming woman waking up / opening my eyes inside /
the only home I have now / the 96 to the city / this city where no one knows me.
It was one of those time-bending ten-year long dreams;
saw myself trapped in the mirror of a lover’s eyes and otherwise I did not exist
and the feeling of it lagged me until I steeled myself to witness
how the image really pained me and how good it would be to redress.
Dreaming woman, yes -
Come on Change / take the reins / they’re loose now
Take me where we all wanna go / any distance down the road towards the truth, now
We all want love / we’ve all got stuff / we’re all just dust
And hollow bone / and a tender little heartbeat / in it’s temporary home
I am a dreaming woman / what does that mean?
Dreaming woman / one foot on land, one undersea
Dreaming woman / you don’t have to love me
Dreaming woman / I’m on it, don’t you worry

Baseline
04:51
|
|||
I have travelled harshly round the sun
And you have things to do that can’t be done
We have something in common
We have a baseline of love / that’s where we start and that’s where we end up
We have a baseline of love / though we may be parted my heart is beating love
My thing is that I want things that I don’t want
And you sing your tender catalogue of love lost
We’ve been to the well, there’s a river under us
And we have a baseline of love / that’s where we start and that’s where we end up
We have a baseline of love / though we may be parted my heart is beating love
Love, that’s where we end up / every time we speak
Love, that’s where we end up / everywhere we meet
Love, that’s where we end up / it’s our frequency
Love, love..
We have a baseline of love / that’s where we start and that’s where we end up
We have a baseline of love / though we may be parted my heart is

No Time
02:29
|
|||
Out here it’s me and the wind
Nothing holding nothing hindered
No time to wait, here
Out here the wind carries me
Out as far as the eye can see
Nothing holding me back, here
I could fly south / but on the other side..
Fooled again, I can’t unwind
Fooled a hundred thousand times
Trying to find the words, you fool you fool you fool…
I could drown out / every sound / but why would I?
I could fly south / but on the other side..
No time to wait.

Take Your Ship
03:54
|
|||
See / all of my troubles an all of my lies / go floating out to sea / and some of the creatures that needlessly die / die tangled up in me
See I have these storehouses full of this deathly sludge / and every time it floods / it leaks into the rivers that are supposed to carry the light and it chokes them up / chokes them up with this toxic mud
Hey / you can just throw it away
Take your ship / circle round the sun and
Go settle on another one
You vortices of might / with your ways and your means / you come stomping around here killing all kinds of things you can’t even see
You with you blazing eyes and your tight smile / I can see you’re trying to be kind but your mind is on the prize and it’s my flesh in the way of your big find
Hey / you can just throw it away
Take your ship / circle round the sun and
Go settle on another one

You Wrote It
04:55
|
|||
I’m finally ready to admit
It’s broken, you broke it
My heart has gone to the dogs
It’s the saddest song
You wrote it
I lost a lot this year
I lost a lot this year
I lost
And I am not half as strong as you think I am
If you think I can lose you with a smile
So far / from me
I’m a mother now, mother of one fine girl
Raised on the run, in a changing world
And I would never admit that I’d really like someone to do this with
Cos who has time for someone else’s heart theses days,
Let alone someone else’s kid?
So far / from me
I’m finally ready to concede
It might be love that I want
But it’s this I need

Dreaming Woman pt II
01:26
|
|||
There is a dreaming woman / and she’s waking up
She can see what’s coming / she says it won’t be long
If you believe in something / move along
Cos what’s been is sinking / like a stone

Sunlight
02:47
|
|||
Every time you leave I find I’m speaking words of love into the mirror and I’m nearer to my mind.
Every time you look inside I’m rolling on some changing tide, you don’t make me want to hide.
Everywhere it hurts, your tender words, my fears disperse, I’ve don’t the work and now I’ve turned up in this / sunlight
Every time you leave it’s like we’ve left ourselves a space to find that’s clearer than a mirror to my mind.
Every time I close my eyes I’m rolling on the changing tide but this does not shift and slide.
It will be / coming soon I guess, another lesson to address but let’s just rest here now in the blessing of this / sunlight

Adrian's Island
05:23
|
|||
Arrogant, adamant argument, the world at fault
Experiments in malevolence yield unkind results
In a nation of one civil unrest never sleeps
And relations with the outside become bleak as bleak can be
Ideas all are fixed / and kindnesses are tricks
It’s frightening on the brink
I have had enough
Of what is not love

Anactoria Candelo, Australia
Maybe it was being born at the dawn of the 90s straight into the dead heart of low-income suburban Australia, or maybe not, but something caused Tamlyn Magee to become a constant turner-over of stones in search of lost meaning or unexpected delight. Her solo music project Anactoria is the natural extension of that tendency. ... more
